Our Favorite Farmer’s Markets in Atlanta

Fall is the best time of year for visiting area farmer’s markets rich with seasonal harvests. If you are looking for a place to grab fresh, local produce, along with an array of delectable treats, the staff at Robinson Facial Plastic Surgery has three favorite farmer’s markets in the Atlanta area for you to check out.

Grant Park Farmer’s Market
After getting its start as a pilot program of the Grant Park Conservancy in 2011, this market has grown into a popular shopping spot for fresh local produce and artisan foods. As the oldest park in Atlanta, Grant Park has enjoyed new life on Sunday mornings throughout most of the year, thanks to the many local farmers, food producers, and other artists.

The Grant Park Farmer’s Market is located at the corner of Cherokee Ave. and Milledge Ave. and is open Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The market runs from April 19 to December 20, so there is still plenty of time to take advantage of the fresh fare available here.

Peachtree Road
On Saturday mornings, the Peachtree Road Farmer’s Market gets into full swing, with an array of local produce, kids’ programs, and chef demonstrations. All food producers that participate in this market must maintain a Certified Organic or Certified Naturally Grown status, ensuring shoppers the foods they buy are safe and healthy for their entire family. Even the prepared food vendors are prohibited from using ingredients like hydrogenated oils and preservatives in the foods they make and sell here.

This market is located at the Cathedral of St. Philip on Peachtree Road, NW. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. every Saturday and the market runs from April 11 to December 19.

Sweet Auburn
Also known as the Curb Market, Sweet Auburn has been ranked by USA Today as one of the top food markets in the world. Much more than your basic farmer’s market, Sweet Auburn Curb Market consists of 24 independently-owned businesses, catering to locals and visitors with popular eateries, seafood markets, retail shops and fresh produce. Sweet Auburn Curb Market is Atlanta’s only public market and provides fresh options in an area that is noticeable without many choices.

Sweet Auburn Curb Market is located in the original Municipal Market building on Edgewood Avenue, SE. The market is open Monday-Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
