BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, Sculptra®, and JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel - Atlanta and Alpharetta

Injectable fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic have become extremely popular in recent years because of the dramatic improvements they can make by diminishing lines, creases, and other signs of aging. Moreover, these treatments are non-surgical and can be performed with minimal patient discomfort and recovery time. Dr. Burke Robinson uses BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, Perlane®, Sculptra®, and JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel at his Atlanta-area offices in Alpharetta and Dunwoody. Please consult with him to learn which injectable is most appropriate for you.

Candidates for Injectable Fillers

Candidates for injectable fillers exhibit some signs of aging or sun damage and feel that they could benefit from smoother, plumper facial tissues. They may have laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet, or facial creases. In cases of extreme drooping or creasing of the skin, a facelift or browlift surgery may be more appropriate. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a popular option for patients who have frown lines between the brows. Restylane®, Sculptra®, and JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel are more appropriate for those who have experienced facial lines and creasing in other areas of the face.

Injection Procedure

The injection procedure typically takes only a few minutes and is relatively painless. The injectables are added with a small needle at several points in the treatment area. If the patient requests, Dr. Robinson may apply a topical anesthetic before the procedure.

Though injecting fillers is a relatively simple procedure, it is important to choose a surgeon who understands the aesthetic result you want for your face. One who understands the result you are looking for and recognizes that different faces require different approaches to treatment is invaluable. Dr. Robinson has over 20 years of experience in improving facial aesthetics and has limited his practice to face surgeries. For this reason, he is uniquely qualified to inject BOTOX® Cosmetic or any of the fillers that he uses. At some cosmetic surgery practices, the injection procedure may be performed by a nurse, but this arrangement is unacceptable at Robinson Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Robinson is the only person who injects fillers at our practice.

Patients having JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel, Sculptra®, Restylane®, or BOTOX® Cosmetic injected may do so at our Alpharetta or Dunwoody offices, both near Atlanta and convenient for most of our patients.

Injectables We Offer

At Robinson Facial Plastic Surgery, we offer a wide array of injectable treatments to meet the many individual needs of our patients.

Perlane®, Restylane®, and JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel (hyaluronic   based fillers)

These dermal fillers are used to add volume to lips and fill wrinkles. Smoother dermal fillers like Restylane® and JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel are used for plumping lips and filling fine lines around the lips and eyes. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin and is gradually reabsorbed by the body. These fillers create a youthful appearance lasting from four to eight months depending on the area of treatment and metabolic factors of the patient.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is an FDA-approved, long-lasting filler primarily used to treat deep lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds) and lines running down from the corners of the lower lip (marionette lines). It is also used to correct scar indentions. Radiesse® consist of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite which is the principal inorganic component of bone, teeth and dental calculus that provides a longer correction of up to two years and stimulates the production of collagen.

Lower-lid Liquid Lift

This hot new application for facial fillers, the "Lower-lid Liquid Lift" was advanced by double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Burke Robinson.

The Lower-lid Liquid Lift restores youthfulness to the eyes with use of a dermal filler like Sculptra® or Restylane® to volumize and support this under eyelid area. Correction of the tear trough area improves the appearance of dark circles and loose, wrinkly skin of the lower eyelids.

Often, dark circles are the result of fat bulging in the lower eyelid that is exaggerated by loss of volume that creates a hollow area called the "tear trough." By injecting a dermal filler into this "tear-trough" area, there is less shadow and therefore improvement in dark circles, making you look more youthful and rested.

Recovery and Results

There is very little recovery time involved with injectables. No bandaging of the area is needed. You can continue to live your life as normal, including wearing makeup, immediately afterward. There may be some minor discomfort immediately after treatment. If there is any redness in the treatment area, it typically disappears within 24 hours. Facial lines and creasing will be diminished, and you will be able to see your final results in a few days. Patients should keep in mind that the results are not permanent – another visit to Dr. Robinson will probably be required to maintain your results.
