New Year, New Aesthetic Trends

The past 10 years, facial plastic surgery has seen quite a few trends. According to surgeons in the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), 96% named rhinoplasty, or nose surgery as the number one surgical facial procedure requested from patients. Another top contender? Chin augmentation.

2020 promises a new decade of aesthetic trends. And while some cosmetic trends will stay or go, here are our 4 predictions for 2020:

  • Rhinoplasty will continue to soar

Rhinoplasty serves both cosmetic and functional purposes. While some patients want to improve the appearance of their nostrils and size, tip or slope of their nose, other patients have breathing problems that may necessitate adjustments to the interior of their noses. And while there’s no such thing as a perfect nose, Robinson Facial Plastic Surgery works to create the most natural-looking nose for you.

  • Botox and Dysport will be used by even younger patients

Self-care and focusing on how to appear and feel younger than we are is a core concept that has been on the rise for several years. And while Botox and Dysport are commonly used in middle-aged adults to soften fine lines and wrinkles, we anticipate to see younger patients wanting to use these cosmetic injectables as a preventative measure to avoid deep lines around the forehead and eyes from becoming permanently etched in the skin by being proactive and starting treatments earlier than their parents did.

  • HydraFacials will be the new go-to facial

We’ve all experienced a facial before. Often seeming like a glorified face massage, few facials provide the right mix of benefits to make a difference on your skin – until the HydraFacial. Introduced a few years ago as the “next-generation treatment” that will comfortably exfoliate and peel, extract and hydrate, infuse and protect – all in one skin-perfecting treatment – it actually can do all of that. Designed for all skin types, even the most sensitive skin, the HydraFacial will be on everyone’s go-to facial treatment for all their skin needs.

  • HALO Laser Resurfacing will grow across Georgia

Did you know? Dr. Robinson was the first facial plastic surgeons in Georgia to offer the innovative HALO Laser treatment and Heather Davis, LE who performs this skin rejuvenation treatment in our Visage Skin Care & Laser Center has been with Dr. Robinson for over 20 years. Together from the beginning, our dynamic duo has been helping our patients achieve radiant beauty one patient at a time. Our skin loses its youthful glow due to sun exposure and our bodies’ natural aging process, leading to sunspots, fine lines and a loss in natural healthy glow. HALO treats multiple skin problems: sun damage, discoloration, visible signs of aging, enlarged pores, uneven texture and mild to moderate scarring. In a sense, it’s a one-stop shop – and likely at the top of many patients’ bucket list.
