Experience the Difference

As the landscape of injectable options expand and grow, injection techniques also continue to evolve. The key to a beautiful, natural-looking facial improvement is choosing a qualified expert injector. A good injector will consider the overall shape of each individual patient’s face and aim to provide balance and harmony using fillers and neurotoxins.

We welcome you to experience the difference with our providers. There is a common misconception that cosmetic injections are safe and easy to administer.  The skill level and extensive training of the injector is vital to your outcome.  For the safest & most effective results, it’s important to understand that not all injectors are created equal.  Careful thought should be taken into consideration when selecting your cosmetic injector.

All three are true artists when it comes to facial rejuvenation with cosmetic fillers. Injectables are a combination of art, science, and safety. The science and safety come first, but the art is right behind them. Trusting your injector’s expertise is key!

The facial wrinkles associated with aging are often attributed to just gravity and environmental damage, but intrinsically there is a loss of collagen and volume.  As the skin matures, the production of collagen — the protein that provides underlying support in the deep dermis — diminishes, therefore weakening this delicate framework.  The production of elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA) also decreases, and these molecules are essential to maintaining skin flexibility.

An injectable treatment of Sculptra triggers the growth of collagen to help restore youthful volume naturally.  The main areas of restoration include the cheeks, temples, and along the jawline.  Sculptra’s formulation of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) in a crystalline form works as a collagen stimulator, revitalizing the production process. The treatments are given approximately 6 weeks apart, which results in a gradual change over time.  Two or three sessions are usually needed, with a duration of up to two years.  Sculptra gently assists the skin’s own support system, allowing for a natural-looking effect that never looks overdone.

Candidates for Cosmetic Injectables

Candidates for injectable facial fillers exhibit signs of aging like deep creases or lines, hollowing or volume loss and feel that they could benefit from smoother, plumper facial tissues.  Facial fillers are more appropriate for those who have experienced deeper facial lines and creasing in all other areas of the face.  They add volume to correct age-related volume loss to help create a more youthful appearance.

Covid Vaccine & Cosmetic Filler Announcement

To date, there has been a small number of cases where the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine was suspected of triggering localized swelling in people who had dermal fillers (most often in the face or lips).  The few cases that have occurred have all been temporary and resolved.  While this is extremely rare, we recommend that if a patient is concerned about any potential side effects from receiving dermal fillers, that they wait at least 2 weeks before and after their COVID-19 vaccine.

Recovery & Results

Sculptra injections are performed in the office and patients experience little to no downtime, returning to regular activity that day.  To minimize discomfort, a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin prior to the injection.  Some swelling is to be expected immediately following the treatment, which can be minimized by applying a cold pack in during the first 24 hours.  In the days immediately following the injection, patients should massage the treatment area to promote even distribution into the skin tissue.  After completing a Sculptra? series, most patients require only one annual maintenance treatment to prolong the positive effects.

At Robinson Facial Plastic Surgery, our priority is YOU, the patient. We look forward to helping you!
